How should we set our thermostat and humidistat?
Great question! If your home gets too warm, mold and mildew can thrive and cause an expensive mess. Set your thermostat on it's "cool" setting and the fan setting on "auto" with a temperature of 80� Fahrenheit. If you have a humidistat, you can leave it set to "on."
Will you monitor other companies that service our home such as the pool company or landscapers?
Of course! While we won't be there to oversee them working at your home, we will pay attention to your landscaping and pool and notify you if we see either in need of attention. Of course, you will need to let us know of any other company you have employed.
Should I empty my refrigerator?
It is definitely ideal to empty your refrigerator but it is almost never practical. If you can't empty your refrigerator, use it to your advantage! Any food products that attract ants and other pests can be stored in the refrigerator until you return.
What should I do to prepare my dishwasher and disposal for months of inactivity?
Nothing! We will run the dishwasher through a rinse and hold cycle as well as run your garbage disposal to ensure the seals do not dry out and leak.
What about my mail? I don't want it to pile up!
As part of our standard service, we will happily pick up your mail at the mailbox and bring it inside for you.
Should I turn off my water heater when I leave?
Yes. You can either unplug the water heater from the outlet or turn off the circuit breaker.
What if something goes wrong and we need additional service?
Hurricanes, leaky pipes or other incidents can occur that will require plumbers, carpenters or other skilled individuals. In these situations, we have a list of licensed vendors that we can recommend. We will send a representative to the home to meet with the workers for an additional fee.
Will you change our air conditioner filters for us if they need to be changed?
Absolutely! Just leave new filters in the home and let us know when you want them to be changed.
